We’re excited to announce that, for the first time ever, the UK furniture industry is joining together to hold a special ‘Buy British Furniture Event’ this autumn. The campaign is organised and promoted jointly by the BFM and NBF.
The Buy British Furniture Event is a month-long initiative promoting British home furnishings this autumn and the MA Living team are exceptionally proud to be a part of this campaign.
We fully support the Buy the Best, Buy British, Save Jobs message for manufacturers and retailers across the UK.
As we all know our economy has been hit hard by the COVID-19 crisis. The furniture industry is no exception to this. All furniture stores were forced to close down for several months with virtually no money coming in.
Although all furniture stores and manufacturers are now open and sales are on the up there is still much uncertainty. There could be a second pandemic and most furniture manufacturers are not running on full capacity. In recent manufacturing industry surveys, feedback worryingly indicates that 40-50% of companies are considering redundancies across their work forces
Buy British Furniture Event has been set up to make everyone aware that it is important to support British businesses and in particular British furniture stores and manufacturers.
At MA Living we manufacture a range of handcrafted high quality upholstered bedroom furniture, an Independent family run business supporting jobs in the local community.
Uncertain times mean all of our factories are not yet able to return to full production resulting in longer delivery times and only making half of what they normally produce, however here at MA Living we are working exceptionally hard to ensure we can maintain our usual lead times.
